where i want my blog to be when it grows up

The last few weeks were all about the ‘what’ …

‘What’ I want my blog to grow up to be.  “What” I’d like to see in the future in terms of readership and sponsors …

… and then asking fellow bloggers to share their very own ‘what’s’ …

So today I invite you to dream a little dream with me …

… as I dream about ‘where’ I’d like to see my blog some day.

Like here …

… and no, I didn’t mean at Tonya of Love of Family and Home’s house.

Well, I take that back.  I would love to see Tonya’s beautiful home up close and personal …

… but I was referring to that magazine in her hand.  You know, the real subscription-based paid for magazine?  A real true-blue-well-established-big-circulation media outlet …

image

And do you see the story there?  That’s Tonya’s coat closet turned office. And yes. You read that right.  She turned a closet into a home office which you can read more about here …

And while I’m well beyond the nursery decorating years …

… not yet the make the national news as a ‘medical marvel’ stage …

… but if I was decorating one, I would love to see the final reveal featured here …

Where Holly of Life As a Thrifter’s adorable school-themed nursery was featured …

image

You can read more — and see more — of Holly’s amazing nursery reveal here …

It’s bright.  It’s fun.  It’s colorful (which I would expect nothing less of from Holly.  She truly embraces color in her home).

Now I must ask my blogging blog readers:  ‘Where’ would you like to see your blog when it grows up …?

P.S. Not that I’m not thrilled to be featured here and here this week …

  1. I’m not really sure. I don’t have really big aspirations like that…well, maybe featured on Young House Love or something ;) OR just do a project that turns some heads. Maybe This Old House. Yeah, that’s probably where I want to end up. My house has already been on local TV (and so has my blog) And I’m already a published (multiple times over) writer thanks to working in the media.

I wish I could give you a better answer.

Heck, if you ask my neighbors my house belongs on a future episode of Ghost Hunters LOL

  2. Congrats to all the wonderful features. Both projects were definitely worthy of seeing their name in lights. Now as to my blog….hmmm….where would I like my blog to be….Seriously? I really think my blog, my porch and I should all head to vegas for the weekend.

And remember….what happens with a blog in vegas….stays in vegas.

    :) me

  3. Those are both lovely features Linda. It was exciting to see Tonya’s closet/office makeover in print. Pretty cool!! I did run across that nursery makeover at some point too. It’s darling. I am sure your blog will grow up to be just what it should =)

  4. given how far you have come in such a short time…I’m sure you and your blog can go anywhere you want! you go girl!

  5. How exciting and sooooo cool! Congrats to both (and to you, Linda!)… now, as for “where”? I haven’t thought that far ahead, but these gals give me something to aspire to.
    Happy weekend!

  6. way to go, ladies! what a dream come true and so well deserved!

  7. they are both lovely. I think if I were to let myself dream about it I would like to see one of my refashions make it into Altered Couture. Of course, submitting something for consideration would greatly improve the chances of that happening

  8. How fun would it be to see our blogs in print…I’m not going to be picky. Any print will do. :)

  9. Amazing!! Congrats to both of those lovely ladies!!

  10. Why can’t some of the great minds put together The Bloggers Magazine? Nuthing But Blog.

    ~Bliss~

  11. You should send your porch photos into magazines…I am sure they’d feature it!

  12. Not sure I know “where” for myself, but I’d love to see some of your stuff in real “print” !

  13. No idea my blog is just something I do for myself and do not think about the future much I live one day at a time……..lol

  14. you will get there someday, i know it! you might think of submitting some of your work to the editors of mags you think would be a good fit…this is how many bloggers i know have been contacted and featured. editors are always looking for content. check out this link:

get your PR on, girl! ;)

  15. We used to think that we would know we arrived when we got a Nate Berkus call to be on his show. With his show ending we’ll have to pick a new milestone to measure our success. You’ll get your print placement some day, we just know it!

  16. Thanks so much for the shout out Linda!! Your blog is great!! Keep doing what you’re doing & the opportunities will come!! If someone would have told me a year ago that one of my projects would be featured in a nationally published magazine, I would have never believed them!! It has definitely been surreal! And like I said before, you never know who might be reading!! Thanks again…..I really appreciate it!

  17. Keep on chugging along and I know I’ll be flipping thru the pages of a magazine reading all about you very soon!
    Kelly

  18. Anywhere, anywhere, anywhere….i’m not picky! I just picked up a copy of the summer 2012 Junk Market Style magazine and saw their top ten handmade Etsy picks, i would love for my Etsy shop to be a feature somewhere also!! I’ll take whatever i can get! LOL You’re doing great Linda i know i’ll see you somewhere in the near future!!

  19. Well my blog is kind of a diary of my home renovation so I guess I’d like to see the home done and then I can look back on all the hard work and sweat and tears we went through and be proud of the outcome

  20. If Apartment Therapy or Young House Love ever acknowledged my existence I’d fall on the floor. :)

  21. I love this goal! I’d love for that to be me one day! Or to even be featured on another blog would be a HUGE honor!
