Second City. For Me.

April 4, 2012 By Linda 19 Comments

I love Chicago, my adopted city.

image

The people are so friendly.

image

The city is so clean and manicured …

image

… it’s downright Metro-sexual.

image

Thereโ€™s a bar on every corner …

image

… and a giant bean in the park.

image

In the Spring and Summer?

image

Thereโ€™s no better place to be than to be in Chicago …

image

And while weโ€™re billed as the โ€œSecond Cityโ€ โ€ฆ

image

โ€ฆ Chicago is #1 for me.

image

Oh, and unlike that other โ€œfirstโ€ city โ€ฆ

โ€ฆ we actually, eventually, do go to sleep here. You can never underrate the healing and rejuvenating power of beauty sleep.

P.S. I should probably give a partial photo credit to my son Sam. We mixed it up and both took pictures of downtown Chicago to frame and feature in his room remodel …

I have ONLY been in the airport, never to the city. I lived in the “first” city for many years! I did actually sleep there. Which by my calculations means that I would be completely restful in Chicago! Or wired.

Love the photos! Thanks Sam and Mom for sharing!

You had me at “a bar on every corner”!!

I’ve never been to Chicago but the Hubs says he could live there – maybe one day! And if a Jersey girl gives it the thumbs up – it must be fabulous!

I know I’ve said this before Linda, but I would LOVE to visit Chicago someday. There is a certain vibe about metro urban cities that makes them so unique and fabulous.

I live nearby to DC and we plan to move there in the near future, it is exactly how you describe Chicago.

I, too, heart Chicago. Took the architectural boat tour once and agree with Zoe..the buildings and reflections are incredibly cool. And congrats to Sam on the photos, he’s got a good eye, he must get it from his mom. ๐Ÿ™‚

Debbie – I’m so proud to call Chicago my home! I even have plans to retire here in an apartment downtown. With an amazing city view. Definitely a building with a rooftop pool …
