saturday show & share: a jersey girl

December 17, 2011 By Linda 3 Comments

Today’s post brings me back to my old haunting grounds. That’s right, New Jersey …

Okay, physically I’m still in Chicago … but existentially I’m channeling my inner Jersey girl.

I stumbled across this blog, Eclectically Vintage, last week …

… and was immediately drawn in by that crazy creative ladder Christmas tree above.  Seriously, who other than a girl from Jersey could take a plain old paint-splattered ladder and make it sparkle and shine?

Kelly’s holiday decorating is so very unique and inventive.  Take this …

… that’s the best use I’ve ever seen a Jello mold put to!

And what about this marshmallow wreath?

I could never do this in my house — it would drive Ernie the Beagle insane, not to mention those little mice that seem to think they live here too – but what a clever kitchen decoration.  I’m digging the little fondu fork embellishment …

Once again, I’m having some serious fireplace envy.  Check out that screen on top … it’s a crib bed spring.  I’m never, ever going to donate or have a garage sale or  throw anything away again … ever.

And look …

… Kelly doesn’t even have big hair!  Take that Snookie!

Like me, Kelly is new to this blogging world, so be sure to stop by and check out her site here …

And make sure you take a look at her amazing dining room before and after post here …

Thank you Kelly! If you ever find yourself in Chicago, please be sure to let me know. I’d love to show you around my new adopted city … and I’m so happy to have a new Jersey BFF blog friend. I do miss my NJ friends. They are the best and most loyal.

I’ve been reading your posts for about 15 minutes now – and realized I wasn’t following you, so now I am. Great kitchen redo – love that glass tile on the table too. I’m adding your blog to my blogs reading lists.
