Christmas in the Chicago Condo Living Room – Neutral Christmas Decor in Khaki Velvet, Brown, Burgundy, White & Gold.

This is it.
I promise.
I pinky swear.

This is the last post-Christmas Christmas post. Mostly because I have no more Christmas holiday decor to share. 😉
Beginning today, I’m looking forward.
To Valentine’s.
And St. Patrick’s.
And Spring …

ah, sweet, sweet spring.
In fact, I’m hoping to adopt a forward-looking approach in 2026.

Did you happen notice the non-committal “hoping” there? I sure did. 😉
The hoping sentiment is related to my being a bit slow getting out of the gate …
but (I think, fingers crossed and knock wood) I may be settling comfortably into a new routine.

They say it takes 30 days to form a habit, and I’m on day 15. So I’m halfway to changing that “hoping” to a definitive “absolutely.”

New Routine Goal #1: Dry January. Check.
I’m off to a swimmingly good start here. And I’m trying to not let the current master bathroom gut renovation interfere with my very good, position intentions.
Honestly, last year’s home sale/home purchase threw Dry January right out the window about mid-month. I’m not looking to repeat that. Luckily I’ve pre-planned this project and have pretty much everything I need to complete the renovation – right down to brand new fluffy towels and cute soap dispensers!

New Routine Goal #2: Getting those steps in. Check.
There were a couple of starts/stops during the first week, but now I’ve adopted a schedule where I start my day on the treadmill in the building’s exercise room. Typically sometime between 6:30-7:00 AM.
Before tea.
Before looking at my phone.
Before firing up the laptop.
Out of bed. Into exercise gear. Into the elevator. Onto the treadmill.

New Routine Goal #3: The blogs. Sigh.
This has been a slower task to fire up. Mostly because (1) I’m still sharing Christmas content well into the new year and; (2) I really want an editorial calendar in place to keep me focused, and; (3) I get a bit overly ambitious with said calendar which just sets me up for failure.
So I’m taking it slow. One or two posts a week. Max.

I’ve also adopted a new approach to the Mason Jar Crafts Love blog. One that is focused on mason jar round-up and compilation posts of my favorite mason jar (fill in the blank). Eventually I hope to add in some original crafts. Maybe monthly. Or bi-weekly. Or weekly.

We’ll see. Trying not to bite off more than I can chew.
Again, that setting myself up for failure thing. 🙂

So that’s where I’m at 15 days into 2026.
How about you? Have you set any goals for this new year?
