The Bar Cart

I’m dreaming of Spring.

And not just because there’s a foot-and-a-half or more of snow on the ground.

And not just because the weather forecast for the coming week is grim. And cold.

And not just because catchers and pitchers are reporting to Spring training this week …

oh, wait, that’s my husband’s dream.

I’m dreaming of Spring because that’s when Mad Men returns.

Okay, it’ll be a bittersweet return since this is the last and final season. And we’ll finally find out if that opening falling man sequence has been foreshadowing Don’s fate all these years …

though, to be honest, I’ll be sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails any time Don gets anywhere near a window. Or that ominous balcony of his.

And to toast the last and final season of Mad Men with a Tom Collins or Harvey Wallbanger or my parent’s one-time-favorite Highball, I’ve created my very own mid-century-modern-look bar cart.

And I stocked it with International Housewares Association (IHA) member bar essentials. You can see the full post over at the Inspired Home blog. Just click here …

P.S. I just spotted some 2015 Mad Men promotional photos at Vanity Fair. Just click here …

So I need to get in touch with these bar people and tell them that they need to sponsor me? (In all truth….I used to watch Mad Men for the clothes, and then it got weird.)

Since when do you shy away from weird? And you absolutely need some bar people sponsors! 🙂

So I never could watch Mad Men. The sexism just made me too mad. Is my life missing something?

The sexism reminds me of just how far we’ve come, and how far we still have to go!

You’re missing the swizzle sticks and then it would be complete. Perhaps this will inspire you: https://theappreciationfactor.wordpress.com/2015/02/19/for-swizzel/

Did like the nod to Tom Collins – ever a fan of the mixer they used to sell (not be confused with Bitter Lemon!) tho’ drink not so much.

Like the cart – it looks very similar to a teak chest I have – even the “knobs” Enjoyed your posts… my first visit via your giveaway listed on another bloggers’ post.

The swizzle sticks didn’t arrive in time for the photo shoot!!! I was on a tight deadline to get the bar cart together! I agree, they would have made a perfect addition!

🙂 As long as it was something to consider. What kind were you hoping to add?
