Foaming Soap DIY – How To Make Foaming Soap – Foaming Hand Soap Dispenser.

Have you ever seen those ‘I was today years old when I learned (insert thing learned)’ posts on Instagram? Or Reddit? Or Tik Tok or Buzzfeed or whatever online platform you use?
Like, for example, ‘I was today years old when I realized stressed is just desserts spelled backwards.’
Or (for my DIY crowd) ‘I was today years old when I found out the screwdriver handle is designed to fit a wrench around it to help with tightening screws.’
Or (for my math nerds, which I say with great affection since my daughter majored in statistics) ‘I was today years old when I realized the division symbol is just a blank fraction with the dots on top and bottom of (-) replacing the numerator and denominator.’

Or ‘I was today years old when I learned this little piggy went to the market DOES NOT mean he went grocery shopping.’ 🙁
Oof. I used to love that little piggy toe game.
And here’s a personal I-was-today-years-old for me. Which I learned last summer while visiting my best friend in California.
It was a today-years-old when I discovered the existence of foaming hand soap.
Yes, I realize I’m embarrassingly late to the discovery of foaming soap. But once I discovered it, I was all in.
No more liquid hand soap for me.

And then this foaming soap today-years-old took an interesting turn. Because I recently discovered that I can MAKE MY OWN FOAMING HAND SOAP!
Again, I’m embarrassingly late to this foaming soap phenomenon.
But this DIY is so easy I couldn’t not share!

Start with a cute foaming soap dispenser. Okay, you don’t have to buy a new one. You can reuse the container of your store bought foaming soap. But this one was too cute. With multiple options for labels. And will look amazing in my (hopefully) soon to be renovated master bathroom.

I used a strip of washi tape to make sure I apply the hand soap lable straight. Use your fingers to make sure the lettering is adhered to the glass.

Very gently and slowly pull off the top layer of the film. I went letter by letter to make sure each was sticking to the glass.

Voila! Your labeled cute hand soap dispenser is ready to be filled.

I’ve seen recommendations for a 1 part soap to either 3 parts water. Or 4 parts water. Or even 5 parts water. I opted for the 1 to 4 ratio. So I filled the bottom of the dispenser with 1 inch of soap. Then added 4 inches by filling it to the top with water.
And give it a little shake to mix the soap and water.

All that’s left to do is pump out some foamy soap.
P.S. Over the past few weeks the hazy hue of the soap has turned clear.
