Rose Petal Bath Salts Recipe & Tutorial – Homemade Bath Salts Recipe – Epsom Salt, Pink Himalayan Salt and Rose Petal DIY Bath Salts.

Have I mentioned we’re renovating our master bathroom?
Have I mentioned we submitted the architectural plans to our building’s board this past summer and they were approved?

Have I mentioned after a (silly) revision requested by the City of Chicago we were awareded a building permit for the renovation project in the fall?
Have I mentioned after waiting a few months for our beloved contractor to complete his projects in progress we got a start date?

Have I mentioned the start date was January 6?
Have I mentioned we actually started on January 6?
Have I mentioned we are currently – at this very moment – in the middle of our gut renovation? As in down to the studs renovation?
Because I feel like I’ve been talking about this bathroom renovation non-stop.
Non. Stop.

So much so that I “treated” (sarcasm font) my best friend to a very lengthy (and very boring) diatribe about picking out the perfect sconces for the bathroom and the challenges of matching the sconce’s gold tones with the towel rings.
I know. I almost nodded off just typing that. 😉
She was very sweet and just listened along. About 10 minutes into my very-lengthy-and-very-boring-diatribe I came to my senses. I snapped out of it with a self-flagellating apology …
and we laughed.
And I promised no more sconce talk. 🙂

Right now the renovation is in the ugly stage. Pipes and open walls and metal stud framing and concrete floors as we await the plumbing inspection.
So what’s a girl to do?
This girl is dreaming of the pretty things. Like the aforementioned sconces. And the perfectly-gold-toned matching towel rings. And niche shelf styling (yes there will be not one, but two niches that I’m overly excited about). And taking a relaxing bath in our new soaker tub …
complete with homemade rose petal bath salts. 🙂
Rose Petal Bath Salts Recipe & Tutorial
Materials*
1 1/2 cups Epsom Salt
1/2-1 cup Pink Himalayan Coarse Salt
1/4 cup dried Rose Petals
1 tablespoon Baking Soda
8-10 drops Fragrance
16 oz. Wide Mouth Mason Jars
*Includes some Amazon affiliate links.
Instructions

Pour 1 1/2 cups of Epsom salt into a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup to 1 cup of pink Himalayan salt to bowl.
(Note: I used 1 cup of Himlayan salt but recommend starting with a 1/2 cup and you can adjust to your personal preference)

Mix.

Chop up dried rose petals into smaller pieces (you can also use a blender, just take slowly so you don’t turn it into rose petal dust!). 🙂

Add chopped rose petals to Epsom & Himalayan salt. Mix.

Spoon into 16 oz. wide mouth mason jars.
When the master bath is completed in a fews weeks (fingers-crossed) time, I’ll turn my attention to the guest bath renovation.
Oh, and I’m sure you’ll be hearing about that.
Ad nauseam. 😉
P.S. This rose petal bath salts recipe makes a great Valentine Day’s gift for mom or a teacher or the soaker bath enthusiast in your life!
